We Like to Have Fun!

I was bad at disco, I was really bad at rap…here’s your chance to see me be a total doofus in this video where I attempt to be ‘gangnam.’

(Hint: I’m the one in the hat).

if you must know, here’s how it all went down….

My VP, Beejal, came to me while I was in a stupor and said he wanted to do a Gangnam Style video featuring yours truly and the 123Employee staff. In my glazed and dazed fog, I said, “sure, whatever.”

I then proceeded to forget about.

Well…guess who quickly remembered?

A few days later when I landed in the Philippines, jet lagged and ripe, I walked into my office, and Beejal says, “Hey, bud, it’s all set. The entire staff’s onboard and we shoot the video in 5 hours!”

The Mountain Dew I was drinking shot out of my nose.

If you want to pee your pants, take pot shots at me, make fun of me behind my back (and who doesn’t?), then clickety click here…

Now, because you’re privy to one of the ‘unmentionable’ moments in my life, do me a big one. After you watch the video, show some love and leave a comment. (I’m know I’m opening up a can of worms here).

Enjoy.

The More You Give, The More You Get

Tuesday, September 4th, 2012

As we’ve discussed before, marketing online is a tricky endeavor. It’s extremely difficult to gage the perceptivity and desires of your potential customer base when first starting out. How do you know what truly interests them? Or what’s attractive to them? Where exactly is the best place to start?

All are great questions, and in complete honesty, the only way to truly know is to dive in and try. Sure, you can conduct market research, but the catch is – the market is always changing, and peoples’ preferences are in constant fluctuation. Something that is popular now, won’t be six months from now. So, it’s near impossible to develop a fool-proof plan when first entering the realm of online marketing.

So what can you, the first time online entrepreneur, do to ensure some sort of initial Internet success? The answer is very simple; follow the Rule of Reciprocation.

The Rule of Reciprocation

The fundamentals behind the Rule of Reciprocation are straight-forward and easy to follow. In a nutshell, the rule represents the ideal of giving. By giving you in turn receive. And in this model, by giving a piece of yourself and your business, you in turn receive support and build popularity. In a sense, you are creating a scale of market equilibrium and symbiosis, which requires both sides to provide valued assets. You contribute a part of your character and a piece of your business, and customers give their encouragement as well as their money.

So now the questions becomes – what exactly can you and should you give? Well, the options are boundless because it truly depends on what your business is all about. In the end, what you give will be completely unique, just like the company you built. But there are always a few good places to start.

Most importantly, you can give your knowledge, which is the one thing you can be certain people want. After all, that’s why you created your business; to provide a service you understand through and through to the masses. By being literate and competent in your product you attract curious clients, and by sharing what you know you reel them in and keep them interested. So share your knowledge, and use any and all avenues possible to get customers amped on your business.

In other words, get imaginative and don’t be stingy. If you wrote a book, give it out. Develop unique videos and audio’s and share them with all interested parties. Create pod casts and blast them all over the web. Do everything and anything to stir attention and garner support, but be sure to include a personalized touch. Remember, you want to stand out, not just your product or service. You are the key item that makes your business different than the hundreds of competitors out there providing the same amenity. So make yourself known to the public. Set up an open attendance webinar to introduce your business and get people excited for your product or service. The only way to become a known fixture is to put yourself out there – put yourself on the Web and in time you will hook a substantial customer base.

Never Procrastinate

And now that you know what to do, it’s time to get to it. Don’t waste precious moments over analyzing the if’s, and’s and but’s; jump right in. The time is now. Take the first step, whatever it may be, to get your business personalized and running. Whether it’s a baby step or a huge leap into the seemingly unknown, just do it. Set up your first webinar, write the first paragraph to your book, create your first podcast, and get the ball rolling. The time is now. And remember—the more you give, the more you get.

So you see; reciprocity is a beautiful thing and a fundamental beginning to any marketing venture. When you give something to the people, people will eventually give you something you desire, whether it’s their knowledge, a business relationship or a purchasing partnership. In the end it all balances out, and you’ll find yourself at the start of a flourishing online business presence. Get out there and enjoy

Be Creative In Design

Monday, August 27th, 2012

The breadth of digital interaction is expansive, taking effect on all avenues of communication; its tendrils of technology grabbing hold in telephone calls, video chat, and much, much more. Any mode used to communicate information is essentially tied to the digital world. Even when speaking face to face, notes are recorded on laptops and phone numbers are exchanged on cell phones. It’s a force behind any great company, breathing life into websites and handling customer inquiries on a near 24/7 basis. Without the technology of digital communication many business would founder in the cut throat competition of the Internet realm, succumbing to flasher and better organized websites.

You see, image can be everything. And visuals are just has attention grabbing and effective as a person yelling at you. So, creating a visually enticing website— one that communicates excitement and a sense of purpose – is vital to the development and growth of any company, but especially for those entering into the chaos for the first time.

Graphic Design Outsourcing

When first entering the daunting realm of the World Wide Web as a new, fledgling business, it’s important to make an impression right off the bat, and solidify your presence as much as possible. How is this done, you ask? Well, there are hundreds of protocols to undertake, like link-building, search engine optimization, content writing…etc., but the number 1 item that must be primed to perfection is the overall visual appearance of your website, as that is the first thing people see.

In all honesty, your website is the face of your business. It’s the one place people can go to find everything and anything concerning your services, without having to leave their home or call in an inquiry. In a sense it is the first impression of your company and therefore, it must be inviting, informative, innovative, and intriguing. Like a good book that draws a reader in with a catchy hook, your website must captivate visitors by being interactive yet informative. And this can be accomplished with effectively placed graphics and visual aesthetics.

Unfortunately, creating, developing and implementing graphic designs that complement your business and attract noteworthy attention, can be very difficult, time-consuming and technical. It’s not about putting some pretty pictures together and making a visually exciting website; it’s about creating a brand that transcends the web and validates your business values. And for smaller businesses looking to make a mark on the world, hiring a graphic design team is a favorable option.

Some of you might be thinking that hiring a team is a waste of money; that you can do it yourself or hire some brilliant student off Craigslist to develop your web design. Although these may be valid options, more often than not the end result is crippled by your limited knowledge and that of your hired student. And in reality, there are many places you can turn to when your budget is limited. All around the world are prestigious, outsourcing graphic design businesses you can hire and expect great designs at low prices; and more importantly, you can expect a complete design program that boosts your business image.

As mentioned before, posting pretty graphics is not going to validate your website. You must look at the big picture, and develop a visual program that boosts your company image. Highly qualified design teams offer such quality and extensive design services. By outsourcing your graphic design needs, you will receive aid from the beginning to the end; from the concept and birth of your business, to the design, and through the production and printing process. Everything will be accounted for, from your logo or banner, to something as simple as a letterhead; and all of it will flow naturally from the computer screen to potential clients. Professional design teams understand the point of user-friendly websites, and can ensure that your pretty pictures will jump off the screen and expertly guide visitors through your website. You will receive a total design solution that can morph off the Internet to your business cards and even transform into efficient online advertisements.

By outsourcing your graphic design needs, you essentially find the perfect spokesmen for your website, as they will create a usable design that entices customers and effectively navigates them through all your business has to offer. And such service is vital when breaking out into the World Wide Web and trying to generate online popularity.

Find Advantages Outside Your Core

Tuesday, August 21st, 2012

Building a business from the ground-up is a weighty endeavor. This we know. Developing a strategic plan that outlines the overall purpose and goal of your company in a manner that not only defines its nut-and-bolts but accurately documents the minutest details of its machinery is hard work that takes time, dedication and help from trustworthy partners. Sure, you can do it all yourself, but you’d be crippled by your capabilities. It’s impossible to be an expert in everything, and in order to be successful, you need to appear as an expert to professionals and potential clients. Hence, the necessity for outsourcing various business-oriented needs to qualified and dignified experts.

Get It Right From the Start

In recent years outsourcing has flourished, with thousands of companies from around the world dedicated to helping your business grow. Every task, whether internal or external in nature, can be outsourced to experts, providing you with the knowledge and state-of-the-art technology required for success. It’s a dog-eat, dog-eat world, and in order to survive you must have a strong team assembled from the start. And thanks to the digital connectivity of the world, your team can come from the four corners of the globe. You are no longer stifled by distance and can pick the cream-of-the-crop to do your bidding. Having such power is truly invigorating, making the start-up process all the more easier.

Outsourcing is truly a bountiful outlet to get your business running effectively and efficiently. Its plethora of benefits not only gives you a competitive advantage, it’s cost effective as well. Let’s take a closer look.

Benefits of Outsourcing

Skilled Expertise – Let’s face it, obtaining a pool of skilled employees is one of the biggest challenges and headaches for companies today. The process of searching, interviewing, and training is not only time consuming, it can rapidly drain your company funds and moral. Outsourcing to professional businesses, however, provides you access to skilled resources at a lower costand frees you from the burden of direct management.

Focus on Core Values – In order to succeed your company must not lose sight of its goals and values. Unfortunately, the stress of managing back-office operations and administrative functions can cloud your business vision, resulting in a less than stellar performance. Outsourcing such repetitive and mundane tasks frees up time, allowing you to focus on your core competencies.

Increased Efficiency and Productivity – Rather than fuss with every little detail and struggle through hours of paperwork in an attempt to streamline your company values, goals, and results, outsource to trustworthy and knowledgeable professionals who can align your business operations tactfully and proficiently. Using experts of various fields, guarantees a level of efficiency that helps streamline business processes, thus contributing to your bottom-line, which in turn raises your productivity.

Risk Distribution – By outsourcing various functions you in turn outsource the management and risk involved for running those particular tasks. In a sense, you hand over the responsibility for certain processes, and problems that arise must be dealt with by the company you hired, rather than eating up your time and energy.

24-Hour Workdays – Currently, many outsourcing companies are located in Asia, meaning their day begins when your day ends. As such, your company can continue its business through the night because of your overseas outsourcing partner. In other words, by outsourcing in countries around the world, you can create a 24-hour business, which is especially beneficial for companies that must provide round-the-clock customer support.

Lower Costs = Greater Revenue – Perhaps the main benefit of outsourcing is the money saved. Due to the differences in pay and standard of living that exists between many Asian countries and Western countries, labor costs are much lower in Asia. Therefore, hiring an offshore company to balance your books or manage human resource functions can result in significant savings. By spending less your company retains a greater savings.

A Flourishing Company

As you can see, outsourcing can provide the boost needed to achieve success. Aligning the core values of your company with professional outsourcing services can ensure smooth business transactions, making your business efficient and reliable. Let the experts handle the tedious logistics, and you can focus on what’s really important – the purpose and goals of your company.

Power Of The Written Word

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

The purpose of an online presence is to attract more traffic, more business and more sales. After all, everyone uses the internet as a tool for making day-to-day decisions. Therefore, your web identity must be spectacular for any hope of recognition and appreciation. As such, the web content you provide is a means to attracting new customers and enticing them to choose your service. In a sense, the identity you put on the web becomes your digital fingerprint or calling card; one that is recorded and stored for future transactions. So in order to become a sought-after, valuable business, you need interesting, unique and persuasive website content that jumps off the screen and demands the attention of viewers.

Website Content Writing Services

In the grand scheme of things, website content is considered all manner of aspects, or all the stuff, that appears visually and auditory. This includes, but is not limited to, texts, images, sounds, videos, and animations. It’s what makes a website sufficient to the outside world, and although each aspect is important within itself, the writing component takes the brunt of website content responsibility.

The bottom line is, a great website needs more than visually appealing pictures or short clips, it has to be mentally stimulating to hold and captivate potential customers. However, providing well written and interesting content that engages audiences and encourages them to continue reading is easier said than done.

One does not simply write information regarding a business and paste it onto said business’s website. Such a method is boring and inadequate for the fast-paced world we live in. Content must be all-encompassing; entertaining yet informative, professional yet personable. And in order to accomplish such a feat, hiring a practiced writer who is knowledgeable on online content, is a necessity.

Web writing is a specific talent of creating useful and usable content for online publication. Effective web writers not only have a firm grasp on the written word, but understand the basics of user experience design and can mold any text to a business’s vision and strategy. It’s a tedious job that balances user preferences, company values, and website protocols. Each aspect must work in perfect harmony to create a website that pleases you, your potential clients, as well as major search engines. Otherwise, your online identity will become lost in the deep and wide trenches of internet spam.

Optimizing Your Written Web Content

Having a finely written and well organized website is a great start, but that alone will not generate traffic and popularity. You also need to optimize your content to attract major search engines like Bing, Yahoo and Google. In other words, to ensure status on the World Wide Web your text must be edited and structured in a format that increases its potential relevance to specific keywords indexed and utilized by search engines. Having the right content essentially boosts your website in search rankings, providing more exposure, which in turn generates a larger clientele base and revenue.

So how do you find the right content writer? And what should you tell them to ensure optimization of your website? In all honesty, it’s easier to tell you what not to do, so you dodge traps most up-and-coming businesses fall victim to.

First, don’t be afraid to invest money in your content. Most writers are paid by the word, and paying a minimal amount will result in mediocre text that bores your audience and tarnishes your business’s image. For quality work, you must be prepared to purchase the time and skill of a professional web writer.

Second, stay away from keyword stuffing. Reading the same word or phrase over and over is boring for the audience and stifles the talent of the writer. Rather than having meaningless keyword phrases unleashed throughout your website, allow the writer to use their knowledge and imagination to create truly inspiring and informative content about your business. Besides, having keywords present in a title and within a web page is enough to meet search engine keyword density requirements.

Third, when it comes to blogs or scheduled posts try and keep it entertaining. The purpose of such content is to embellish a website, and therefore should have some spice and jazz to it. Attempting to remain neutral dulls a piece. Give people something interesting to read, and let the writer express the topic like a human being rather than an automated machine.

As you can see, web content is a slippery slope of contextual dilemmas, and one false move can render your website obsolete. In order to obtain a well-rounded, informative, amusing, engaging, and web appropriate text, you need to outsource to a professional web writer. But don’t restrain their imagination and talent with worthless guidelines; provide some structure and let them run with it. It’s an investment that will give substance and depth to your online presence.

The Complex World Of Link Building

Monday, July 30th, 2012

At its core, link building is defined as the process used to establish relevant, inbound links to a company’s website as a means of achieving higher website ranking with major search engines, which in turn drives targeted traffic to the site. Or, in other words, links are the streets search engines use to navigate between pages, and through sophisticated analysis the engines can determine how pages are similar or linked to each other. Therefore, expanding the link profile of a website is critical to attract attention, recognition, and traffic from search engines.

So what does this all mean for your company? How can improving your link building strategies improve the overall status of your business?

Well for one thing, lucrative link building can generate higher search rankings and more traffic, meaning your website will appeal to a larger range of potential customers and more customers generates greater revenue. By investing in link building operations you essentially construct a better web identity that directly improves the quality and authority of your website, and hence validates your service to interested parties. Therefore, taking the time to customize your link building strategies will ensure connections that are the most beneficial for the industry you associate with. However, creating and maintaining a well-oiled linking system requires constant research and scrutiny on the latest trends in SEO, and retaining such a large endeavor in-house can severely cripple your resources.

Outsourcing Link Building Operations

Rather than struggle with complex link building protocol, you can hire a knowledgeable, professional and dedicated SEO marketing firm to handle such work. That way, you are guaranteed a successful online presence with links to other reputable businesses. The idea is to gain quality inbound links, rather than a handful of mediocre or unethical links, to enhance your visibility with major search engines.

Only permanent and relevant links from established and ethical sites can help your site achieve better SEO rankings and generate more hits or visits. And in turn, by developing a legitimate, well written, interesting and reliable website, administrators of other sites will want to link with you because it’ll offer their customers something of interest and value to read. By providing a dependable and stimulating online presence you will attract noteworthy partners that will enhance your web identity and standing. However, balancing the development and upkeep of your website, the research required in staying up-to-date with search engine tactics, and the networking needed to find and link with other reputable sites, can be an unbearable burden for a small, up-and-coming business. Don’t struggle with the complicated, technical mumbo-jumbo of the link building world; find professionals to sort through the mess and create a site of perfection.

Link building companies are the authority on link building practices and will research and implement the most effective and ethical methods to improve the ranking of your site. How you ask? Let’s take a look at some of the top reasons.

1. They can improve your site’s authority or trust to major search engines like Google and Bing. For small business without a worldwide brand name it is of the upmost importance to improve your internet presence, and the best way is to link with other authoritative websites. Link building professions know the right avenues to achieve this.

2. They accurately alert search engines to your sites keywords or anchor text. Using the right keywords lures external links to point to your page, making it easier for visitors and search engines to find you.

3. They will help you establish a presence on larger websites, which in turn helps drive better web traffic. Often potential customers use links on other sites when searching for the right product or service. Being seen on relevant web pages directly affects the popularity of your site.

4. They will keep your site fresh. Over time sites lose their popularity and eventually fail to garner new links. As such, it is not only important to gather links to your website, but also to continually add new links over time. Freshness of links is key when search engines judge popularity and relevance.

5. They help maneuver your site through the new and complicated waters of social networking sites. There is no denying the exponential growth and importance of social channels, and although search engines treat them differently than other sites, they notice potential links nonetheless.

As you can tell, there are no shortcuts to a successful link building campaign. Many complex and technical aspects are used when optimizing your websites linking structure to ensure links with credible sources. By outsourcing your link building to professionals, you will gain peace of mind, for your site will be successfully incorporated in a comprehensive SEO marketing approach, and thus earn the full benefits gained form linking with other reputable and active websites.

Talk Outside the Office: Call Center Outsourcing

Friday, July 20th, 2012

Business competition is fierce; now more than ever. With the world at their fingertips, potential customers have the ability to locate, compare and judge hundreds of business in order to find the perfect service for their needs. So what sets apart the ideal company from the plethora of combating services vying for each and every interested party?

Well, for starters, great customer service can win over and keep customers close. Individuals satisfied with both the requested service and the personal aid provided by the servicer, become life-long partners. And this satisfaction will spread like wildfire to their family and friends, expanding your customer base for practically free. But what entails great customer service? What can you do to ensure current clients and potential investors receive superb assistance?

Call Center Outsourcing
A main logistic to credible customer service is long distance help, which is based within a company’s call center. Clients can receive technical and personal aid or make or cancel reservations, and companies can run all their incoming and outgoing calls or even their telemarking through such a center. Stripped down to the bare essentials, call centers handle all the phone traffic for a business. And for growing businesses, maintaining a well-oiled call center is extremely important in maintaining a vibrant, sought after service. The question then becomes, what kind of call center should a business invest in? Should it stay in-house or be outsourced to a specialty enterprise?

In today’s digitally connected world, outsourcing your call center operations has clearly become the way to go. Not only will specialized individuals handle your clients’ questions and problems, you will free up both time and money for core business projects. Let’s take a closer look.

Expanding Beyond Your Immediate Borders
First and foremost, by working with a third-party for your communication needs, you bypass all the expensive preparation required for a successful call center. Outsourcing this service leaves the recruiting, managing and training to specialized individuals, and your team will no longer stress over mundane issues, like extra staffing and scheduling. There is simply no point in wearing your business down by taking on extra responsibilities associated with a call center. Let the experts take the reins. Call center enterprises devote their energy in providing flawless service, so you can rest assured that your customers are being well taken care of 24-7; because as we all know, the world never sleeps.

While you’re slumbering away, dreaming about the new leaps your business is intent on making; someone is waking up and demanding help with your product or service. In order to appease clients in every time zone, you must have a 24 hour calling center; and building such a facility in-house is a huge endeavor for a growing business. However, outsourcing this service relieves you of the headache, letting you sleep and dream in peace.

The fact is, specialized call center service providers are finely attuned to the desires of their clients and are prepared for the heavy work load. By passing off such a large chore, your time and your employees’ time are freed up for more important business issues, like fine tuning your product and marketing techniques. You are essentially given the precious time to improve the overall competency of your business, which is something all customers are searching for.

Customer Expectations
The unfortunate truth is that you can’t make everybody happy. Someone will always find fault with the product you produce, and products will break unexpectedly. But, having aid readily available with competent, patient and empathetic individuals will help secure and win-over customers experiencing such difficulties. When the problem is fixed, the relationship is fixed as well. So rather than fledgling with the weight of an around-the-clock call center, outsource that need to a specialized agency with specialized employees expertly trained in communication. Your customers will be treated with the care and respect they deserve, and you will maintain and expand your customer base. Happy customers will rave about your service and such compliments will attract fresh, new, and excited clients.

The idea is simple; to keep the ball rolling and the lines of communication open, outsource your call center.

Business Processing Outsourcing – The Big Picture

Monday, July 9th, 2012

Specialization, division of labor and outsourcing are not new concepts. Such phenomena have been present for eons, emerging from the frame of humanity since the time of hunters and gatherers. In the beginning, the models were rudimentary; those talented at hunting, hunted and those prone to gathering, gathered before the profits were split. Today, the concepts are still simple but have morphed into involved business ventures to compensate for the technological and communicative advances of the world.

What is Business Processing Outsourcing?

The progress of worldwide digital connectively has been a quick and ardently accepted enterprise. Developing friendships, business partners, and expansive businesses from across the globe are not only possible, they are sought after and cultivated. Business owners and entrepreneurs have the world at their fingertips, allowing them to locate specialized service providers that can deliver quality assistance without breaking the bank. By outsourcing certain business activities executives curb the costs of labor and become free to delegate more important company issues. As such, partners overseas form an integral role in the success and growth of a business, and must be chosen with care and thoughtful consideration.

Originally, when the outsourcing revolution began in the 1990’s, India was the prominent nation procuring contracts with American based companies. Wage rates in India were much lower than those established in the US, and many executives were able to cut costs by outsourcing various management and development applications, otherwise known as information technology or IT services. And, as more and more companies realized the potential of outside assistance, new avenues of outsourcing were developed to further cost-saving measures.

Outsourcing support services or Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) was the next stage in the evolution of foreign partnerships. Functions necessary to run a company but not related to the specific core of the business were diverted overseas, and once again owners and entrepreneurs were able to save money while expanding their service base. Processes such as payroll and employee benefits management were the first to be relinquished overseas, and now BPO encompasses everything from financial and administration procedures, human resource functions and data processing to call center and customer service activities.

Why Invest In BPO?

At its inception, BPO was an extension of IT services and a means to reduce company expenditures. In today’s fast paced, digital world BPO has grown into a chief component of growing, successful companies. Major corporations and individual entrepreneurs alike have realized the potential gains of outsourcing specific, non-core processes to specialized offshore accounts; and many developing countries have invested in quality networking and training centers to satisfy the growing service demand. Now, the benefits of business process outsourcing are undeniable, and directly linked to the growth and prosperity of a company.

For example, outsourcing helps improve the overall productivity of a company because it allows executives to focus their energy on crucial management tasks rather than simple, mundane, and repetitive process duties. Having day-to-day responsibilities administered by an outside entity frees up time needed to explore new areas for generating revenues, formulating new strategies, or simply focusing on customer satisfaction. Furthermore, it permits companies to focus on their core competencies, as they are able to review and analyze internal operations. By understanding their true skills and abilities, businesses can make the right adjustments needed for furthering their success and customer base.

Having more time during the day also breeds improvement among employees. Rather than rushing through repetitive and unchallenging processes, personnel have enough time and energy to complete obligations efficiently and are provided the opportunity to develop personal skills and abilities. And as they progress they are able to deliver innovative services and products to clients.

Additionally, management, administration and training of employees are also huge tasks that BPO can alleviate for small and large enterprises. Outsourcing business processes’ pertaining to human resource (HR) work not only frees up time and money, it provides the opportunity for businesses to develop strategic HR function. Because HR requires a lot of man power and time, businesses find themselves overwhelmed by the expansive responsibility. By delegating specific tasks to outside enterprises, companies are then able to perfect the main components of their HR departments, saving money and energy.

At its core, business processing outsourcing is an effective, reliable, and affordable way to increase business growth and elevate employee efficiency. Connecting with people from around the world provides a pool of specialization that can ensure the well-being and productivity of a company.

Outsourcing of IT

Monday, June 25th, 2012

Outsourcing is an old phenomenon that has evolved to become more meaningful to businesses in recent time. Nowadays, companies outsource different business functions, from IT to customer service, HR and accounting process. Some years back, the need for cost reduction became a major concern in the business world. As a result, organizations were looking for temporal solutions through offshore software outsourcing. Amazingly, they got virtually equal benefits.

Years after, outsourcing (particularly offshore outsourcing) has become the ‘in-thing’ in the business world, not just for cost-saving but also a strategy for growing a business. Outsourcing of IT is a popular trend among corporations and businesses of various sizes. IT outsourcing vendor provides organizations with quality information technology services in stipulated time limits, more effectively and efficiently.
